National Scholarship Scheme – NSP 2.0

Through the National scholarship portal, the students can apply for various scholarship schemes offered by the central and state government. University Grants Commission (UGC) is the Apex body for the higher education system in India. University Grants Commission is also hosting some of its scholarships on the national scholarship portal. Procedure To Check Eligibility At NSP 2.0

Any applicants who want to apply for a scholarship under NSP have to check their eligibility by following a few easy steps:

• To check eligibility you need to go to the National Scholarship Website
• From the home page of the website, you need to go “services” option.

• Then click “scheme eligibility” from the drop-down options.
• You will be redirected to a new page as shown below.

• Enter the details such as Domicile State/UT, Course Level, Religion, Caste/Community Category, Gender, Parent Annual Income, Whether Disabled and captcha code.
• Click the “check eligibility” option to show your eligibility for the scholarship.

National Scholarship Portal Registration Process | NSP Login Process

First Step

If you are applying for any scholarship from the NSP portal for the first time, then you need to register yourself on the portal. Follow the below steps for NSP Online Registration for yourself.

• To register yourself you need to go to the National Scholarship official website.
• From the home page of the website, you need to click the “New Registration” Icon shown below.

• You will get the below page to select the options for registration.
• You can also click on the “New User? Register” option in the top left corner shown in the below screen.

• On the next page read the instructions that appear on the screen, tick the checkbox and click the “Continue” option 
• On the next screen, a Registration Form will open as shown below.

• Enter the details as asked on the screen such as name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID, bank details, etc.
• Enter the captcha code and click the “Register” option.

Second Step

After successful registration on the NSP portal, you will get a Student Registration ID / Application ID and OTP on your mobile phone. Now you need to keep these credentials for NSP Portal Login for a fresh application. Follow the below steps for NSP 2.0 login to log in on the NSP portal.

• Go to the Home page of the National Scholarship Portal.
• Click on the “Login” Icon at the top of the home page. Select the year from the dropdown. Below NSP Login window will open.

• Fill in the Application ID and Password (OTP) you received on your mobile during registration.
• Fill in the captcha and click Login.

(You would need to upload the scanned copy of Aadhar and other documents)

National Scholarship Scheme Renewal Process

• To renew the scholarship you need to go to the Official Website
• From the home page of the website, you need to click the “Login” icon and select the Renewal year from the dropdown.

• Below NSP login window will open to login for renewal.

• Now enter the Application ID, Password and captcha that appears on the screen
• Click the “login” option and apply for the renewal of the application.

Download NSP Mobile App

• First of all, go to the Official Website of the NSP 2.0 Portal.
• On the home page (on the top left corner), you have to click on the Get it on Google Play icon.

• You can also search for the NSP App in Google Play Store on your mobile.
• Click Install to install the NSP App on your mobile.

Do’s For NSP Scholarship Form

• Read the guidelines carefully: Applicants are required to read the guidelines of scholarship very carefully. The eligibility criteria, application guidelines, ineligibility, etc. are to be read very carefully in order to avoid any confusion in the next stage.
• The deadline should be tracked carefully: The deadline of the scholarship has to be tracked very carefully. Applicants should keep in mind the last date of the application while planning to apply for any scholarship.
• Documents to be kept handy: All the documents like identity proof, address proof, income proof, bank account details, etc. have to be kept handy before filling out the application form. The application remains incomplete without all the required documents. The applicants are also advised to keep a soft copy of all the documents on their devices so that a hassle-free application process can be ensured.
• Proofread the application form: Before submitting the application the applicants are required to proofread the application and check every detail before final submission. Some scholarships do not allow correction after submission. Due to incorrect information sometimes your scholarship can also get rejected
• Copy of submitted application should be kept: Keep the copy of the submitted application with you so that you can track its status. Applicants are required to make sure that the mobile number and email ID provided in the application form are working as the scholarship provider may contact them for further selection or confirmation.
• Fill application form yourself: Always try to fill the information in the scholarship form by yourself as it will reduce the chances of filling in any kind of wrong information

Don’ts For NSP Scholarship Form

• Incomplete information should not be submitted: Never submit incomplete application forms. If the applicant has submitted an incomplete application form then his or her application will be rejected. As it is the responsibility of the applicant to submit the complete application form by entering all the mandatory details.
• Misleading information sources should be avoided: Avoid all the misleading information sources while applying for a scholarship. Get information from trusted sources only. Always apply for the scholarship through the official website. For information purposes, different websites can be referred but applications must only be filled through the official website.
• Keep login details secret: Applicants are required to keep their login details secret. Sharing your login details with too many people may result in your scholarship getting rejected.
• Avoid misleading information: Always fill the clear and concise information in the Application Form as misleading information will result in your application getting rejected. The provider considers all the information entered by you correct but if any information filled by you is found incorrect or misleading then your scholarship can get rejected.
• Never wait for the last date: Always fill out the application form before the last date in order to avoid any last-minute hassles. Sometimes the official portal stops working on the last day due to heavy traffic on the website. As a result of which you will not be able to submit the application. So all the applicants are advised to fill out the application form before the last date.
